Paris - Notre Dame & Cherry Blossoms
I do not think words can adequately describe how much I love Cherry Blossom trees, or Paris, or the color pink, so add them all together and it's like a dream come true. On our trip to Paris in late April, most of the cherry blossom trees had already come and gone, but Katie Mitchell told us about one little spot that still had cherry blossoms next to Notre Dame, so of course, I begged Mike to take us!
Let me just say, it did not disappoint. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and were absolutely gorgeous!!! Situated right below the Notre Dame Cathedral and next to a little park, the trees made a beautiful pink canopy to sit and play under.
Also, Notre Dame de Paris (Our Lady of Paris in French) is one of my favorite stops. Located on the little island of Ile de la Cite, and known for it's French Gothic architecture, it is an incredible place to visit. I especially loved going up to the roof to see the gargoyles and amazing view of the city (highly recommended). If you go to Notre Dame, be sure to buy the Paris Pass for free entrance to the roof (normally $8.50/person) and to other top Paris attractions! Bonus tip: Nearby, there is another really beautiful church, Sainte-Chapelle, known for its incredible stained glass windows that is definitely worth a visit!
