Château de Chenonceau
Since we've been highlighting Paris on J'Adore Explore the last few weeks, I thought it would be perfect to share some pictures from The Loire Valley of France - a day trip from Paris! Mike and I took a couple days on our honeymoon in late October to explore the beautiful châteaus in the Loire Valley region and it was honestly amazing! The history is fascinating, the grounds and gardens are unbelievable, and the chateaus are breathtaking. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this to anyone with an extra day in Paris! We rented a car because we stayed overnight and wanted to go at our own pace, but there are plenty of tours that will take you from Paris!
One of the amazing Châteaus we visited was Château de Chenonceau. It is open all day, all year long, and it is an absolutely glorious chateau built over water! It has an awesome maze garden that we definitely took advantage of, and they have a restaurant as well.
Some History:
"The Château is known as the "Château des Dames" and was built in 1513 by Katherine Briçonnet, and successively embellished by Diane de Poitiers then Catherine de Medici."
