Bangkok, Thailand - Wat Traimit

The Temple of the Golden Buddah (Wat Traimit) is located in Bangkok's Chinatown. The Golden Buddha, located on the 4th floor, is a little over 9 feet in height and weighs 5.5 tons. It is the world's largest solid gold statue, and was discovered by accident when it was moved and dropped and the plaster revealed the gold underneath. There are museums on the lower levels as well.

Travel Tip: As with all temples, you must remove your shoes when entering and should cover up your shouders and legs.
