Margaux - Two Month Birthday

Happy Two Month Birthday to our sweet Margaux!!! This month we fell more and more in love with this precious little girl! We are so happy and thankful for our beautiful, healthy baby.

Margaux loves familiar faces, bright lights, and being held upright (none of that baby cradling stuff, she wants to be up and checking out the world). She enjoys baths, car rides, and mobiles. When she cries she means it (we've affectionately given her the title Queen Margaux because she can be quite demanding at times.)

Sleeping:

Margaux started sleeping through the night in her own room at 6 weeks old! She will sleep 8-10 hours and wakes up right when Mike's alarm goes off in the morning. Watching her wake up with lots of big streches and yawns is absolutely adorable! I could watch it all day.

Naps are a little more hit or miss, but we are working on it. She will take a great morning nap after her first feeding in bed, but the rest of the day she is not quite as consistent (she just loves to be awake for all the action).

Feeding:

Margaux is a good eater and does about 6-8 feedings a day - usually 6:00, 9:00, 11:00, 1:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 8:30 give or take. She has had another full month of exclusive breastfeeding! Yay! I did not think I was going to make it past those first few weeks! We tried two bottles in the month of breastmilk, but she refused one and begrudgingly took the other. She continues to be thoroughly insulted if you give her a pacifier. She just wants the real thing.

Physically:

She is extremely strong and is growing so fast! Her best friends are lights and fans! She can hold her head up very well and that's saying something since her head is in the 99th percentile and as Mike says, is like a bowling ball. She is already starting to come close to rolling over during tummy time, but hasn't quite made it yet. She was 11 pounds at 6 weeks and about 12 pounds at 2 months. She started entertaining herself in her crib without crying while she is awake at 5 weeks. She smiled for the first time (while awake) at 6 weeks, and will give the rare smile a couple of times a day. She also started sucking her thumb at 8 weeks, and she is super ticklish on her feet.
