Snoo Bassinet Review
Sleep has to be one of the biggest challenges and adjustments for new parents. Those first few newborn weeks are ROUGH and at the end of the first week or two, my husband and I were desperate to find a sleep solution for our baby girl who loved to party all night long and seemed to hate naps with the fire of a thousand suns. I had a crib in her room, the Halo Bassinet in our bedroom, and a portable bassinet downstairs. After reading Happiest Baby on the Block and seeing an ad for the Snoo, which would sway and shush a baby if they woke up and adjust the intensity based on the babies movements, I had to give it a try. So here are my thoughts....
I ordered the Snoo when Margaux was a couple of weeks old (sleep-deprived and desperation-driven). When I got the Snoo, Margaux had somehow and miraculously decided she could sleep through the night on her own in her crib. I hesitated to open it given this happy, new development, but they offer a 30 day trial and free shipping and returns so curiosity got the best of me and I had to check it out.
Margaux loved it and it really worked to calm and soothe her. She did fall back to sleep when she woke up crying within a minute, which she had never done before without getting picked up. I definitely liked the sleek look and thought it did what it advertised. It came in an organized-style box and was super easy to put together. I think their swaddle or sleep sack is awesome, and was the favorite one we tried.
Overall, depending on how much you're willing to pay for a sleep solution, it is definitely one of the coolest bassinets on the market. It is also a relatively short-lived baby product because they do outgrow them, so that is another consideration to keep in mind. I really liked it, but at the end of the day, since Margaux was sleeping through the night in her crib, I didn't want to keep anything that could jeopardize how well that was going, so I returned it. I would consider buying it again if we had another baby that didn't sleep as well, but I would do it from day one.
